The 70’s was a great era of music. I suggest that we shouldn’t analyze our band name or our song lyrics too closely. We anticipate that some people may be offended by us, but our advice to them would be to lighten up a little bit. We live in an age, where you can’t say everything you want to say because of political correctness. There were some very funny TV shows back in the 70’s. “All In The Family”, “Love Thy Neighbour”, “Kingswood Country”. I don’t know if you ever watched any of that stuff, but you could pretty much say anything you wanted on TV back then. There was a lot of humor that was racially based and sexually based, and it was funny as shit. Not to mention TV soapies like “Number 96”. Can you imagine any of these shows being made now? You would never get any of that stuff on TV nowadays.

In fact humour is a great way to expose hypocrisy and to demonstrate how bad and pathetic racism, sexism, ageism and all the other ism’s really are. Art and music have always been at the forefront of standing up for the downtrodden and disenfranchised. All the best music and art shocked and outraged the establishment. That’s why rock ‘n’ roll is so cool and why we love it so much.

Supposedly we now live in the freest society, we live in the internet age where we have access to information any time of the day, anywhere we want, but there’s more rules as a society. You can’t say whatever you want without being ostracized by people. It’s one of the main reasons we formed DEEP THROAT. We are here to do what we do best and that is to entertain and if we offend a few people along the way that’s OK. As long as you have a sense of humor, you’re going to laugh. I think people need to be able to laugh at the differences between each other. You can’t take it too seriously because there’s always going to be differences between people and we all need to lighten up and roll with it.

DEEP THROAT are BACK and we’re here to kick political correctness hard in the balls!
